In 1999 Abby’s Assisted Living opened its first Denver area care home located at 2607 South Eudora Place.  This facility provides care for up to eight senior loved ones including three private rooms with private baths that were added in an addition completed in 2008.  In 2001 our second group care home was opened at 3071 South Rosemary Street.  This facility provides care for up to eight elderly loved ones.

Director, Louise Mendelson - Louise earned her Bachelor and Masters Degrees from the University of Pittsburgh.  She has provided services to the elderly for more than twenty years.  As part of her education she completed training as a personal care home operator and is certified in medication administration.  Through the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado, she has counseled persons and families affected with Alzheimer’s Disease and other types of dementia.

Janet Handmaker, BS, PT, Consultant -  Janet received her degree from the University of Pittsburgh/ D.T. Watson School of Physical Therapy.  She brings to Abby's more than twenty years experience as a Physical Therapist, including ten years as owner and director of Buckingham Physical Therapy.

Tim Garcia, Manager - Tim has worked in the assisted living industry for over twelve years.  Tim’s contributions are invaluable.  He ensures our residents are in a safe and healthy environment by overseeing the maintenance and operations of both care homes.

Jennifer Vaughan, Assistant Director - Jennifer has worked at Abby's Assisted Living since its opening in 1999.  She is thoroughly familiar with the day-to-day operations of the homes. Her enthusiasm with the residents is contagious.
